Armed Bandits Attack Katsina Community, Steal Cows, Injure Two

Security analyst and Counter Insurgency Expert, Zagazola Makama has reported an attack by armed bandits in Unguwar Gada village in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State in the early hours of Saturday, where two persons were injured and several cattles rustled.

According to a post on Saturday on X, Zagazola Makama said the gunmen invaded the community at about 12:45 a.m and fled with the stolen livestock through Rereji village in neighbouring Malumfashi LGA.

Two villagers, identified as Sani Yau and Umar Shamsu, sustained gunshot wounds during the raid and were rushed to the General Hospital in Malumfashi for treatment.

Security operatives, including police officers, were ambushed by the fleeing bandits while responding to the distress call. The attackers opened fire on the patrol team, damaging the front tyres and engine of a police Armoured Personnel Carrier, APC, rendering it immobile.

Troops have since intensified patrols in the area and launched a manhunt for the perpetrators
