Abia State Government To Commence Data Collation for Schools’ Revalidation

The Abia State government through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education will on Monday, June 16, 2025 commence revalidation exercise of public and private schools into Abia State Basic and Secondary Education Management Information System (ASBS-EMIS)

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi in a statement on Thursday said the ASBS-EMIS is a secured centralized portal for holistic management of education data in the State.

The portal, according to him will provide unique identification numbers for Learners and Teachers in both public, private and unapproved schools with a comprehensive database adding that the exercise is not with the intention to close down the existing unapproved or illegal schools in the State.

The statement further stated that the revalidation exercise is completely free of charge while the Heads of Public and Private Schools are advised not to pay any fee to anyone within and outside the Ministry as the exercise will also ensure all Schools in the State attain the minimum standards and operation in line with the educational policy’s of Free and Compulsory education for Abia Students in Basic and Secondary Education.
