Abia Philanthropist Launches Voter Registration Campaign In Abia

An Abia born philanthropist, Darlington Nnaoma Onyekacha has called on the residents of Abia and the South East in general to increase the voting strength of the zone by taking advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Onyekacha made the call while interacting with newsmen in Umuahia on Monday, at the official launch of his campaign on the need for getting the permanent voter’s card, following the announcement by INEC the the number of registration from the zone is very low, compared to other zones in the country.

Onyekacha, who is the founder and financier of Darl Onyekacha Foundation urged Ndi Abia to always pray for the leaders in the state and the country at large.

Darl Onyekacha Foundation is a Charity and non governmental organization that has empowered the less privileged and vulnerable persons in Ikwuano, and Abia through scholarships, skills acquisition, medical outreach and human capital development.

The Philanthropist who hails from Ngwugwo Ibere, Ikwuano Local Government Area encouraged Ndi Abia to jettison the idea that their votes do not count, pointing out that things have changed with advancement in technology.

He reminded Abians and people from the South East geopolitical zone that voting begins with Registrations and acquisition of the permanent voter’s card.

He aligned with the mantra “Your vote is your voice.”

He posited that though democracy in Nigeria is going through a critical stage, adding that our electoral system can only get better.

He once again encouraged residents to visit the local government headquarters to register or transfer their Permanent Voters’ Cards, ahead of the 2027 general elections
