ABIA: PDP IS UNDERGOING PRUNING, NOT DEAD – AMAH ABRAHAM

Abraham Amah, the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has cautioned against the thoughts that the party is dead, saying the party is undergoing”pruning” and would return to winning ways.

“Indeed, it is both premature and misguided to write off the Abia PDP as dead and buried. Political history—both within Nigeria and globally—has shown time and again that parties and leaders rise from their lowest moments to reclaim relevance and victory. What Abia PDP is experiencing is not death, but a season of pruning and realignment.”

He further explained that those who dumped the party to join the ruling Labour Party in the state are those whose loyalty is connected to immediate gain, especially from the government in power. Amah is of the opinion that those who left the party are not seen as losses to the party.

“The exodus of certain individuals, especially those whose loyalty was tied more to immediate power than to principles, should not be seen as a loss but as an opportunity to rebuild with conviction.”

“Those who truly believe in the ideals of the party are still here, holding the line, and preparing for a comeback rooted in strategy, grassroots engagement, and the people’s disillusionment with the theatrics of those currently in power.”

The PDP Abia State Chairman said the state Governor, Dr Alex Otti lacks humility which he said would ultimately lead to failure.

“Governor Alex Otti may appear invincible today, but power without humility often leads to costly missteps. Already, the cracks are beginning to show, and Abians are watching closely.”

“The same voters who once embraced him out of frustration are beginning to reassess their choices.”

“This presents a strategic opening for the PDP—one that must be seized with unity, purposeful leadership, and credible candidates. The future belongs not to those who defect at the slightest storm, but to those who weather it and emerge stronger. Abia PDP’s story is far from over; in fact, the next chapter may yet become its most defining.”
