Abia LP: Otti Preaches Unity Of Purpose Among Support Groups

The State Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Sir Emmanuel Otti has called on members of the ‘Abia Arise’ a Pro-group of Dr Alex Otti not to see themselves as different from the party.

Sir Otti gave the charge at the council headquarters of the Umuahia South Local Government Area, Ubakala on Thursday September 18, 2025 during a local government tour of the State Working Committee SWC of the party.

Speaking during a reception by the Mayor of Umuahia South Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Enwereuzo, the state chairman of the LP, Sir Emmanuel Otti, appreciated the Mayor and party faithful for their resilience and commitment to the party while emphasizing the need for stronger collaboration among support groups in the party to ensure successful outing in the 2027 polls.

The Chairman emphasized that there’s no dichotomy between the Labour Party and Abia Arises, stressing the need for unity and cohesion within the party.

He pointed out that all support groups within the party are aiming at one target, which is to deliver the Governor, Dr Alex Otti and other candidates of the party in 2027.

According to Sir Otti, the visit is part of broader strategies to assess the numerical strength of the party and the voting strength of the local government ahead of the 2027 general elections.

On his part, the Mayor, Engnr, Chinedu Enwereuzo in a warm welcome showcased on going projects embarked upon by his administration.

He led the delegation through the agricultural initiative of his administration as part of efforts to ensure food security. The local council engaged in poultry farming with over 2,000 birds.

While appreciating the State Working Committee SWC of the party for the visit, he pledged his continued loyalty to the party and the state government led by Dr Alex Otti, OFR.

The Chairman of the party in the local government among other party chieftains were on hand to receive the delegation.

Recall that the party began tour of the seventeen local government areas in Abia State as an organizational strategy to keep the party on the same page and to avoid factionalism within the party in Abia State.

Abia is the only state among the thirty six states of the federation that in governed by a governor, elected on the platform of the Labour Party.

Despite the leadership crisis that shook the party to its very foundation at the national level, the Abia State Labour Party under the leadership of Dr Alex Otti and Sir Emmanuel Otti (Acting State Chairman), the party has waxed strong against all odds.

The State Working Committee, SWC, of the Labour Party in Abia State continued its tour of the seventeen local government areas in the state on Thursday, September 18, 2025 with the train moving to Umuahia South Local Council Area.
