ABIA LP FIRES BACK AT AMAH ABRAHAM, SAYS PDP SHOULD COVER THEIR FACES IN SHAME

The Labour Party in Abia State has replied the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the state on the claim by Amah Abraham, the state chairman of the PDP that the past administration, led by Okezie Ikpeazu Ph.D, secured one hundred and fifty million dollars ($150 million), loan before leaving office.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen on Tuesday April 15, 2025, in his office in Umuahia, the state Chairman of Labour Party, Sir Emmanuel Nwaeze Otti challenged the PDP to tell Abians what they did with the loans they secured during the period they held the reigns of power in the state.

Recall that Amah Abraham, the Abia State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party had in a recent interview claimed that the PDP secured a $150 million dollars loan for Governor Otti which Amah claimed has helped Otti to carry out the projects going on in the state without borrowing.

Sir. Emmanuel Otti questioned the justification for getting multiple loans and yet the state Treasury was empty before they left office. He wondered why the PDP government left huge debt with all the money they had at their disposal to work for Abia State.

“They secured the loan, yet they could not pay salaries to workers. They cannot point out a remarkable project they did for Abia. They were squandering the money. They borrowed money to quander it.”

“The PDP should cover their faces in shame for the kind of stewardship they gave to Abians.”

The LP state Chairman said the government of Alex Otti is not a government of propaganda.

“The LP led Abia State government is not a government of propaganda. The good works of the governor, powered by the Labour party are there to speak for us. We are not running a government of media performance.”
