Abia LP Commences Local Government Tour
As part of the efforts geared towards strong preparedness for the 2027 general elections, the Abia State chapter of the Labour Party launched a tour of the 17 local government areas in the state, aimed at sensitizing the populace on the need for revalidation of voters’ cards.
The train took of at Aba North on Monday, August 11, 2025. Led by the state chairman of the party, Sir Emmanuel Otti, the train made its first stop at the Aba North Local Government Headquarters, first to inspect ongoing projects in the council secretariat and to intimate the staff on the prosed Continuous Voter Registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC which will commence on the 18th of August, 2025.


At the venue of the event, a mammoth crowed came out in affirmation of their love and support for the LP and the Governor Otti led government in the state.
Adorned in their varying uniforms, various support groups turned the event into a carnival to the admiration of unlookers.
In his address, the State Chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Sir Emmanuel Otti who unveiled the party’s policy document said the state has been in wrong hands since its creation, adding that salvation has come to the State through the Labour Party.
While he appreciated the honour accorded the State Working Committee, SWC, Sir Otti assured party faithful of fairness in the activities of the party.
Sir Otti pledged to ensure that everyone is carried along at every level of the party structures.
“For many years, the state has been in the wrong hands, but through the Labour Party, salvation has come to Abia”



“I thank all of you for the support, trust and honour that you have accorded the State Working Committee, let me assure you that everyone will be part of the activities of the party in all the levels of the party structures.”
According to him, the “Rescue Abia From Criminal Negligence” policy is a well structured programme of the party which has been dutifully organislzed to reposition the party for more successes in the state.
He said that the party would ensure that all the 17 local governments in the state were visited within the next 2 months to sensitize them on need to mobilize their members to revalidate their PVCs during the INEC continuous Voter Registration which will commence on August 18, 2025 (For online registration) and August 25 (For Physical registration).

Sir Otti reemphasized the target of the party, which is the win the executive seat in the state and all the parliamentary seats in the state.
He enjoined the party faithful to remain resolute and steadfast to ensure the LP emerges stronger.
